Word of the Year
I tried this a couple of years ago and it kind of worked but not very well. I think part of my problem is I write stuff down and I sort of remember it but not very well and not when I need the reminder. So instead of burying this information in my blog, I'm making a page for it.
This year I considered using my word from 2012 again - ORDER. It did help but it's an on-going process and I am behind again. Then I thought maybe PURGE would be better because I need to get rid of a bunch of excess crap and that should help me keep up with the rest but that doesn't really describe all that I need. So I'm going with ...
MAINTENANCE
Synonyms are: upkeep, sustainment, repairs, retainment. I am going to do some major MAINTENANCE on my paperwork and on the stuff we have stored in the storage area and in the basement. I like this because some things will need to be purged (also a synonym), some things like paperwork will need retained. And I will need to sustain the systems I decide to set in place. I will also need to do regular upkeep on all the incoming stuff.
My other word is ...
MOTHER
Synonyms are: attend, nurse, nurture, protect, provide for, tend, treasure, watch over. I would also add teach. My oldest is 13. I need to start teaching them some basic household skills like: washing clothes, loading the dishwasher, cleaning toilets, cooking, sewing. Perhaps my word should be TEACH but I also want to make sure they know that I treasure them and that they feel protected.
